About Tumeric

Fertilising Requirements

Apply organic fertilizer such as Stoneage guano every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.

Special Instructions

Plant in Spring/Summer. Bury rhizomes 5cm deep, buds facing up, spaced 40cm apart.
Use wide, deep pots with drainage holes if growing in containers.

Interesting Information

Turmeric takes 8-10 months to mature. Harvest when the leaves and stems turn yellow and begin to dry out. Gently dig up the rhizomes with a spade or hand fork.
